Why is the County doing these projects?

The existing facilities have outgrown their space and/or outlasted their life span. Renovating would require a major interior overhaul of the buildings including structural, heating, cooling, electrical and plumbing systems and could cause significant disruption to daily operations. Renovation is an option but does not give the same level of functionality the new buildings will provide. More details can be found in the master plan.

What will happen with the old building?

This is still being explored but there has been interest from several community members in repurposing the building.
